ZHIVAGO (Жива́го)

What’s in a name? Zhivago is my middle name.

We’re all named what we are named because our parents choose them. My middle name was chosen based on the classic film, ‘Doctor Zhivago’. *My first name was supposed to be Von. The more I thought of the reason why my parents chose the names they gave me, the more I began to think about the fact that because these are my names, it was meant for me to be named as such. Because I carry these names, it is up to me to give them meaning (to nobody other than myself).

Zhivago is Russian for ‘life’. Life…what you make it. What it is representative of the kind you’d like to live…what/who you put in and get out of it. I ponder the meaning of my existence. Why I’ve been brought here. If it was my choice or not. How to get through it. How to live it well.
