One of my favorite things while working as a barista for Starbucks, was when they would send us shirts designed to interact with celebratory months out of the year. In 2018 while a barista at Starbucks, I wanted to design a halloween themed shirt for the store I worked at, for my work crew. I wanted to keep it minimal by focusing on coffee rather than overtly halloween but to carry out the holiday aspect by utilizing the colors we recognize as such. Here are the two options.
Going with an orange shirt, was the final idea. I thought orange would be unique rather than black. The risk though, would’ve been coffee being spilled or splattered on during work. I also simplified the design a bit more by making it a one color graphic rather than adding the white. This is the outcome.
